So much good stuff! The holidays are coming fast, to Crafted!

But first? I have to share these awesome textured copper and art glass earrings that I made today. They will be up on Etsy tomorrow…

Copper and glass

These were terrific fun. I’ve been cleaning out my studio for the last few days, and found a bunch of plain ‘raw’ copper stampings shoved in the back of a drawer. I had at them with some hammers and then a few go ’rounds at the dapping block, torched and annealed, then shaped some more. Into the tumbler for a few hours to a burnished sheen, and then I paired them with some fantastic raku glass headpins and turquoise beads. The crappy Instagram doesn’t really do them much justice, I’ll have much better shots for the Etsy listings tomorrow! They’re really light but look quite substantial and nifty. SO much fun to get into the studio, to work and to play. I’ve been finding a lot of fine silver charms I made a while back but never finished and now there’s oh so much great stuff to share.

So I’ve got some good news about upcoming stuff at Crafted!

First off? Parking is now free every day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You don’t need the sticker, you don’t need to have three in your car, you just need to show up and you will not be charged to park in our spacious carpark. Admission, as ever, is free. I’d quickly like to say thank you to all the amazing folks who were such good sports about the previous $5 parking charge. I know it was unpopular, but a lot of folks came and shopped with us anyway, and that meant the world to us during the long, hard summer. The folks who paid for parking or who parked in the free lot and walked in are the folks who kept my doors open this summer and I am terribly grateful!

Enough about that… what about the upcoming stuff?

Unbelievably, the holidays are pretty much here!

Here’s a “taste” of upcoming events, starting with:
San Pedro’s Taste of the Holidays – this Sunday, November 18 from 6 – 8:30 p.m.
As previously mentioned, the San Pedro Chamber is hosting their taste of the holidays at CRAFTED! We will be open late until 8-8:30ish. This is a special event and you must buy tickets from the Chamber of Commerce here. It’s a hugely popular local event and we are tremendously excited to be hosting our San Pedro neighbors!

Small Business Saturday – NOVEMBER 24 – ALL DAY
Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday, a day for eco- and socially-conscious holiday shopping in support of the small, local businesses like us that are the engines of the nation’s economy. We represent more than 100 local, independent artists and crafters under one roof, with the perfect gifts for absolutely anyone!

Honey&Ollie will be open all three days of the Thanksgiving shopping weekend (yes, even on Black Friday, though we are not opening early and you can’t get big screen tv’s for 90% off at Crafted), as will The Night Market and Enchanted Chic.

Rachel Leathers of Hearts of Stone Jewelry is going to be in the Night Market that weekend, with a bunch of new stuff. We’re having a trunk sale of her new designs that weekend, and you are in for a huge treat!

Here’s what the folks at Crafted have planned for you on Small Business Saturday:

– free, incredibly cool CRAFTED tote bags for the first 200 visitors. These are made from recycled military scrap material by disabled veterans at the West LA Veterans Administration.

– SANTA and Mrs. Claus will be here from 12-3 p.m. OMG, tell Santa about that new set of Caran d’Ache neocolors that you’ve been dying to get! And those pan pastels! Wait, that’s me. Okay obviously you’ll have to get in line…

– The San Pedro City Ballet will be sending dancers for mini Nutcracker performances in the Demo Area at noon and 1:30 p.m. Tiny sugar plum fairies!

– DJ Frank FoReal – from 3-6p.m. This guy plays a smooth mix of great shopping tunes, I just love him, he’s my favorite of all the Crafted DJ’s!

But that’s not all. In December we’ve got even more great stuff planned… starting with the return of Sip N Shop!

Friday Night Sip and Shop – December 7, 14 and 21 from 4-8 p.m.
Crafted has teamed up with Off the Vine to make Friday nights fun and help the after-work crowd get their holiday shopping done! Happy hour shopping spree with wine, beer and live music!

December 7 – DJ Brandon Laws
December 14 – DJ Frank FoReal
December 21 – DJ Ernie

More holiday madness as I get wind of it.

Add 24 years and shake.

We’ll be there! Hope to see you there too!

Sounds like so much excitement!!! Wish I could come down and mouse around at Crafted, seeing all the wonderful stuff everyone has on display. And I LOVE the new earings!!! Especially the middle ones. Now I gotta figure who I’d give ’em to for Christmas! (Other than myself LOL) I hope you are visited by lots of people who find irresistible treasures to take home.
