10 & 9 Days To Crafted: Holy Handsaws, Batman, we’re still Building!

We have finished painting. Mostly. I still have to do some trim, and some stenciling, but, the actual wall painting is done. Martha Stewart’s Potter’s Clay in “Raw Sugar” and I can’t tell you how much I love this paint. I love it. I love it SO MUCH. It looks creamy and delicious, like pudding. It has something in it that catches the light and adds dimension to the textured walls.

It just… cameras don’t even do it justice. It’s the most gorgeous paint ever.

But that’s really not the best part. The best part is that we spent two days working side by side, laying a gorgeous floor. There was also some hilarity in Home Depot, a meltdown and a crying jag in the parking lot that continued in an adjacent IHOP, there was some disco, and suddenly everyone is coming by and saying hi and wanting to meet the Captain, who is the Official Spokesmodel for Honey&Ollie World Domination Enterprises and becoming rather famous as a result.

I know it seriously looks like the Captain is doing all the work, but I actually put together 2/3 of that floor myself, thank you very much. There was some serious teamwork going into that floor.

This is where we left it yesterday, as we were both staggering with exhaustion and doing really stupid things.

And this is where we left it today, installed but still needing the edge trim. And, Houston? We have cash desk.

Isn’t it gorgeous?

We are completely happy. There is no more painting and the floor is in. Now we just get to build and hang some shelves and displays. This is a very exciting point to be at!

I’m taking tomorrow off from the port, working on displays and doing my laundry. Because I am out of socks and all my pants have paint and port dust on them.

Today they got the Big Ass Fans moving, and all our lights are working. It makes a huge difference in the space. The energy was up and bustling, as more and more vendors are starting to move into their booths. Everyone has a different look, so much creativity and color in one space! I can’t wait to see what it all looks like for Opening Day!

Tomorrow, a tutorial on a fun way to display jewelry if you don’t have much space horizontally, but have room to go UP. But now, I’m going to go fall on my face and sleep for the next 10 hours.

Here, have some kitty toes.

Kitty toes make it all better.

I adore this look, Rain. It is so gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it with the displays installed and all your beautiful jewelry in it. Love the cash desk. I wish I lived closer, I would be down at Crafted all the freaking time! Probably better for my wallet that I am not any closer.

  4. I’m so proud of you!! This is truly amazing and I wish I could see it in person.
