I spent a few days after returning home from vacation clearing out my studio and reworking my work space. It felt really good (and filled up 3 trash cans and a few recycle bins) to get that done. Felt even better to get back to my bench and play with some beads.
I just love this choker. Delicate 12k gold sets off tiny faceted spinel beads and watermelon tourmaline drops. So tempted to keep it for myself, but it is destined for Etsy and to delight some lucky wearer.
This pretty, on the other hand, will be hitting the road with me and going to shows, maybe to delight some other person. Aquamarines separate more of those delicate, gorgeous spinel beads and check out those faceted rose quartz drops. So. Darn. Pretty.
No, really. See?
I was browsing around this really cute bead store in Arcata, CA and discovered a stone I’ve never seen before. Aquaterra jasper – it’s a delicate lacy jasper that is dyed in various hues. Any color you could imagine. I picked out a couple of samples to play with and I could not be happier. I really just love this stone. I’ve worked up everything I brought back into pieces for shows, but this one pair is going up on Etsy and I’m definitely ordering more aquaterra beads for both shows and shop. Here I’ve got it set off with tiny glass beads from India, and wrapped in 12k gold, with hammered earwires.
How pretty is that?
I’ll be at a couple of upcoming shows next month – Farmer’s Fare in Costa Mesa, CA on the 13th and Loveable Crafts Extravaganza in Carson, CA on the 28th. Then the Handmade Marketplace, a little closer to home on September 18. I hope some of y’all local folks come on out and say hi!
