One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.

The Southern California Renaissance Faire has closed its gates for the 2011 season, after a 7 week run. And what a run it was! We had rain, we had fog, we had wind, tears and laughter, nonstop music and dancing, good friends, old friends, new friends…

it was a spectacular run and now we are done until next year.

Oh the season itself is not done, there is still Frazier Mountain Faire, San Luis Obispo Faire and Big Bear Faire. The guild of Saint Helenas will be at all three… but the main event for us has come and gone.

I had a wonderful time.

I’m glad it’s over though. I was done. The season is such an intense experience, interpersonally and energetically, I can only sustain so many weekends of it before I start to burn out and before my body begins to say, “Okay, enough.” Now I can focus on other things, like Honey&Ollie! But it was magic while it lasted and I carry a warm sense of happy satisfaction away from it.

New shinies coming up on the blog this week, as I prepare for a show at Whimsic Alley in Los Angeles! Also, a giveaway! I’ve got an extra copy of the wonderful new book Unfurling by Misty Mawn that is looking for a new home. If you are a fan of Misty’s work, like art journaling or the creative process, this is a book you are going to want to have! So stay tuned!
