the studio is coming along quite nicely… bits and bobs of inspiration and creativity are getting tucked up here and there, mice are finding their corners or teacups…
I am having fun playing and over the next 6-8 weeks I’ll be taking about 6 different classes in various art techniques. Just for me, not for credit. Some of these courses have closed, others are still open. I share them here with you in case you’d like to join in the magic:
Unraveling. An e course with Susannah Conway. This one is all about self-discovery, through the lens of the camera.
Michael de Meng’s Art Laboratory. An e-course with Michael de Meng focusing on color washes and some of his techniques with paint.
Dream Lab at Mondo Beyondo. Another e-course, focused on self exploration and personal growth.
Stretching Within, with Misty Mawn. A 5 week e-course that covers art and mixed media techniques from the basics to some fun new stuff.
Shining a light within seems to be the theme of my own personal winter intersession.
I’m also taking advantage of a couple of archived e-courses that I am sort of dabbling in and exploring at my leisure, as I have time.
Stitched and Stenciled, from Dispatch From LA. Name is fairly explanatory. Stencils, cutting, spray paint, using inks, new techniques.
Write Place, Write Timeis another ecourse that I am doing right now. There were a couple of a ha moments of, “Oh, I never thought to put things together that way.” and techniques I hadn’t thought of yet. There were ideas I could run with. This course would be great for someone just starting out with journaling or scrapbooking.
Locally I’ve got a wire wrapping course, a one day fiber dying and spinning workshop coming up, and tribal bellydancing with Edara starts back up at PCC extension in January. I am going to be really busy, a very exciting growthful, covered in ink and paint, happy sort of busy.
A couple of these photo classes from LK Ludwig are on tap for summer, depending on money and time.
[Day 14 of 30] today I am just grateful for time. The time to explore all of this, all of myself, and take a deep breath.
