Live, eat tacos, be happy!

First off…. the Kogi truck is gonna be here tonight and you all know what THAT means, right? A trip to the ATM (no taco booty call today, alas! the ex Mr H&O has Important Burner Type Stuff going on) and queuing for a hit of delicious grilled lip-smacky goodness, that’s what. Wish you were here. Except not really. Because if you were here, there would be less tacos for me.

SO despite the epic lack of blog updates (I’ve just been really busy having a wonderful time and doing all the things my mother warned me about), there has actually been some fiber art going on, Chez Fabulous. But you all know I feel that “in progress” photos are about as exciting as watching grass grow, so I don’t usually like to put anything up until it is done. Still, here it is. I’m about 2/3 of the way through the Feather and Fan Comfort Shawl, combining about 5 skeins (1000 yards, ish) of worsted handspun into something that’s more incredible than I had any right to expect. This is a really great pattern for handspun, particularly if you are mixing up different batches of fibers and colors.

I am also very excited about this merino/silk blend, from Funky Carolina:

My beautiful friend Carrie does the most amazing magical work with color and it is always such a joy to spin her fiber. She’s got a shop update on Thursday, so you might want to skip over and check it out.

What else, my darlings? I am playing and having a wonderful time being alive. I’ve been filled with more joy than I have any right to expect from the Universe.

And then there's me

Faire is, perhaps, the place where I feel the most completely myself, which is odd if you consider the fact that I am dressed up and acting like someone else. Sheep parades, kid’s day, rabble rousing, drunken peasant piles in the street (note to self, fortified blackberry cider makes one act silly) and all sorts of good stuff abound. I got a little posey of flowers from “an admirer” last weekend, but the flower seller did not tell me WHO that person was. I suppose that’s the point? I do have an idea as to the identity of the person in question. Getting that little posey might have made my entire Sunday 100x better and plans may be afoot for reciprocal admiration.

We’re coming up on weekend 4 of 7. If you haven’t yet come out to say hello, I really wish you would!

Incandescent happiness, my loves. I am riding it as far as it will take me.

First, your shawl is beautiful! the yarn is amazing. Second, I’m really happy to see that things are looking up at Casa De H & O 🙂 Lastly, do you still have that beautiful pink/red roving up for sale…cause if you do, I SO want it, lol.

Rainy, I love that shawl! You’ve inspired me, I’m using crappy cheap yarn, but I’m making one of my own!
