I honestly hope you watch until the end. The last few seconds slay me.
It’s a cold, wet and rainy day here Chez Honey and Ollie, but things are looking up. Our lawyer came through and as of yesterday morning, we have a restraining order!
It isn’t all sturm und drang here. I am 2 rows (12 squares) from finishing the body of Sorcha’s afghan, and then I just have to do the border. Taking a cue from a freaking GORGEOUS one that Ellen Bloom did (Ravelry link), I’m gonna do a pretty lacy crochet border. I am 7 cable repeats away from finishing my cabled Greenjeans cardi. My first paper for Poli Sci went off very well, as did my first speech for my public speaking class. Em is just a few short units away from completing our first full term at Laurel Springs and she’s pulling A’s and B’s. Such a change from when we were struggling with public school and migraine.
And yesterday? I had sushi with Emily, and treated myself to the latest book from Seannan MacGuire, A Local Habitation. BEST afternoon in ages.
Sometimes joy is in the small things. A little bit of pickled ginger and some raw fish. Seeing a project through to the end. A kitten basking on a heating pad. In fact, I’d say that 99.9% of the time joy really is ALL in the small things.
My friend Marilyn talks a lot about finding joy in things. I am trying to take a page from her book these days and get it where ever I see it. She is my secret and unofficial Joy Guru.
