how does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells, and pretty maids all in a row…
This would be my mother’s day gift to myself. I finally got in the container flower garden I’ve been wanting since we moved in here a year ago. Yay! Nasturtiums, fuschias, petunias, chinese lanterns and geraniums. I guess I have fairly prosaic floral tastes. I’d like to put in a jasmine, I think, as well.
The porch is one of my favorite places to hang out on summer mornings before the heat of the day kicks in. So I have created the ultimate little oasis for myself for leisurely cups of tea and a place to spin while I watch the world go by. I recently put in a little hummingbird feeder, and today I had to move it over about two feet to put up my geranium… only the hummers all got confused and upset and didn’t see the feeder in the new spot because apparently two feet is a lot of distance for a hummer to turn his little head and look. So I moved it onto the other side of the geranium where it is only 18 inches away from the old spot and somehow it is more visible. Now I have happy, drinking hummers again, which is good. They were pretty chittery and pissed off there until I figured out where to put the feeder so they could see it.
Hope the mothers who read this are having a wonderful day!
Ohmygoodness! You are so lucky!
We’re finally sprucing up our balcony deck (a year after moving in,too!) with potted plants too. Not only beautiful to look at and be amongst – but also helps with privacy. =)
You know, I think these are the first pictures I’ve seen of your new house! I would love to see more! it looks so adorable!
There’s some pics from before we moved in. I gotta take some now that it’s all fixed up.
Love your container garden.
Your home is absolutely adorable! It looks so happy. Love the container garden.
Reminds me that I need to water my (surely crispy by now) sage.
