A friend gave me a gift certificate for Yarn Market over the holidays as a sort of mixed holiday/birthday season giftie, and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get with it. Yarn? Bag? Basket? What? I’d been fondling these Lantern Moon needle cases for a few years at my LYS. Budgetary constraints always insured that I’d set them back down. But I wanted one. Reeeeally really wanted one. And they had the little ones at Yarn Market, for the exact amount of my gift certificate.
It was fated. Meant to be.
So now the circs reside comfortably in the geisha print needle case sewn by my friend Rhonda, and the dpns reside comfortably in the Lantern Moon case, and ne’er shall the twain tangle again. Sometimes the little silly things are very joyful. Like a good friend generously fulfilling some long held wish she didn’t even know you had. Every time I get out a sock needle, I’ll get to think about my friend and it’ll make me smile.
The second Pigeonroof sock is coming along nicely, just slowly. I haven’t had much time to knit with all the homework, and we’ve had some out of town guests as well. I’m actually grateful for the latter, as it’s meant I had to take a break now and again and go outside, eat, laugh, whether I wanted one or not. The universe has been enforcing balance, it seems.
